A Dispatch from your Humble Prospective Homeowner!

You read that post title right! I am finally buying a house! After over a decade of renting, my spouse and I are finally set to close on a cute, little home of our own next week and we could not be more excited (and scared and stressed etc). This process is not for the faint of heart or paperwork-avoidant!

What this means for you is two-fold. First, I would like to move as few things as possible and I’m excited for a fresh start. So I am putting all of my finished jewelry in my Etsy shop on mega sale until July 13th. After that, I will be deactivating the listings until after we are settled so I don’t have to worry about shipping anything during our move. If you would like to take advantage of 40% to 50% off beaded jewelry and do your girl a solid by thinning my inventory, now is a great time!

Beadweaving patterns will be unaffected except that I will be even more grateful than usual for your patronage during this very expensive season in my life. <3

Secondly, I will be getting a new craft room! For those of you familiar with my current setup in our storage room with dangling ceiling paint from a leak several years ago that my landlord stopped, but never repaired, you can surely see how this will be a vast improvement. I have so many cool ideas to customize it to my own crafty needs and I can’t wait to take you on this journey with me.

Shall I paint? I think I want to install a giant pegboard to display my seed bead stash. Maybe even cover it with wallpaper? Who knows! The choices will be all mine and I’m simultaneously thrilled and VERY intimidated. I would love your suggestions or just general encouragement. I am decidedly not an interior designer and could use all the luck you can send my way.

Anyway, I super appreciate any good vibes y’all have to send my way. I’m very excited about this change and feel optimistic that being in a better space that I enjoy spending time in will boost my creativity and hopefully also my presence on this blog (all of you who are still receiving these emails despite my infrequent updates are the real MVPs and have all my love).

Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly and you all start seeing more updates once the worst of the move is over. Thanks in advance for the well wishes. :)

What fun – good luck and enjoy your new home. Hopefully this one satisfies you for many more years than your last one. I would advise you strongly to think long and hard before you apply wallpaper. It’s so darn hard to get off.

The day you move,Make sure you know where your sheets your toothbrush and your wine glasses are so you have something to drink the first night while you’re unpacking and then you can make the bed and fall into it.

My husband was a builder, and we moved many times as they will sell a house right out from under you😊…. So I have had lots of practice.

Congratulations Sam! So happy for you! Your craft room will be awesome, looks light and sunny. Cathy had already told some of us who meet for lunch and beading that you bought it. Yes it is overwhelming and intimidating, but so rewarding! Best of luck moving and decorating! Don’t ask me for suggestions, I am not a decorator!—Toni
